Honkawa Hirotsugu High School was built in 1928 as the first public elementary school in Hiroshima City to have a three-story reinforced concrete structure. The block plan school building, which was bent into an L shape, had a hall and a place to take off shoes, and dust chutes from the 2nd and 3rd floors were also provided. Furthermore, it was a modern school building with arches installed in the opening on the first floor and the front entrance. I was exposed 410m from the hypocenter. After several repairs and renovations, it opened as a peace museum in 1988. You can see the exhibits collected from the A-bombed areas.
