This rocky mountain is 227 meters above sea level and is said to be where Yoshimitsu Murakami, the 6th head of the Innoshima Murakami Navy, built a Kannon Hall in 1569 (Eiroku 12). In 1827 (Bunsei 10), Kashiwabara Denroku and his disciples created 500 stone Buddha statues of arhat. At the top of the mountain, you will find about 700 stone Buddha statues of various sizes with various poses and expressions lined up in a narrow space. It boasts the best location in Innoshima, and you can see the islands floating in the Seto Inland Sea and the Innoshima Bridge. Shiratakiyama is a place of magnificent scenery that has been praised by poet Isamu Yoshii, who wrote, "From the top of Shiratakiyama, the view is wide, and if there is an island, there is the sea, and if there is the sea, there is an island." It is designated as Setonaikai National Park. The scenery of Shiratakiyama and pyrethrum has been selected as one of the "100 Best Villages in Japan."
