Nomi Hongu Hachiman Shrine was relocated from Miyaga Toge Pass on the border with Saka Village, Takada County (present-day Mukaihara Town, Aki-Takata City) and was originally built as the guardian deity for the five villages of Nomi, Beppu, Kajiya, Kiyotake, and Yasuyado. The current worship hall was built as the main hall in 1701 (Genroku 14), and many cultural properties have been passed down, including the Great Prajnaparamita Sutra (600 volumes written on paper in ink), a prefectural important cultural property, and within the grounds there is a shrine grove that is a prefectural natural monument.
