Live Video Streaming from Miyajima to Overseas (Fun From Home, Japan National Tourism Organization)
The Hiroshima Convention & Visitors Bureau (HCVB) will participate in the "Fun From Home" project, which is implemented by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) to provide live video distribution of seasonal attractions in various regions of Japan for overseas viewers, on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 from Miyajima.
In addition to a close-up of the completion of the restoration of the Otorii (Grand Gate) at Itsukushima Shrine, the oldest temple on Miyajima, "Miyajima Misen Daihonzan Dainshoin", which was founded by Kukai in 806 AD and celebrates the 1250th anniversary of his birth this year, will show Miyajima's beautiful scenery, unique and photogenic Buddhist statues, sustainable and delicious vegan vegetarian cuisine, and a "Buddhist bead making experience".
From the Miyajima Omotesando shopping street, visitors will be able to try on traditional costumes, experience the unique utsushie(copying) and branding iron, and try their favorite gourmet foods such as oysters, anago-meshi ( (broiled conger eel on top of rice) , fried momiji manju, Hiroshima lemon soda, and freshly made momiji manju (maple leaf bean buns).
The live broadcast will be made on the bureau's Facebook page.
The distribution will be made via JNTO's Facebook page, as well as through the Facebook accounts of JNTO's Toronto office, Sydney office, Kuala Lumpur office and Delhi office.
