Spring Waterside Concert 2023

[Event details]
This “waterside concert” is a concert hosted by the “Water City Hiroshima Promotion Council” (Secretariat: Hiroshima City Economy, Tourism Bureau, Tourism Policy Department, Hospitality Promotion Officer) composed of citizens and the administration in order to enhance the appeal of Hiroshima City's waterside and lead to the revitalization of the city.
It is being carried out as an initiative of the “Water City Hiroshima” concept formulated to advance town development that makes use of the appeal of the waterside, and it is being carried out for the purpose of opening the Motoyasukawa Water Terrace, which is a waterside public space, to musicians and performers, fostering a “peace culture” through arts and culture activities, and creating a bustle at the waterside.
Regarding the concert, the Water City Hiroshima Promotion Council has received occupancy permission based on the River Law from the country (Otagawa River Office) that is the manager of this hydrophilic terrace, and the actual venue management for the concert is carried out by an NPO corporation.

・When visiting, please leave appropriate intervals and refrain from cheering loudly.
・As a general rule, please eat and drink at intervals at the bleachers designated by the management organization when eating and drinking during the viewing.

We are looking for companies that agree with the purpose of the waterside concert and will sponsor the concert.

We are looking for “waterside artists” who can liven up the “waterside public space” in order for artists active as musicians and performers to make use of the waterside public space and create bustle at the waterside through arts and culture activities as follows.

If you are an artist active in the fields of music, performance, etc., and have read the following [registration conditions] and can accept the contents, please fill in the following information on a postcard, fax, or email and send it to us. (Please use the “Waterside Artist Registration Form.”)
(1) Name (In the case of a group, the group name, representative name, and number of members are also included.)
*Names and group names will be published on Hiroshima City's website, etc.
(2) Contact information (address, telephone number, mobile phone number, fax number, E-mail)
(3) Performance details (genre, repertoire, organization, etc.)
(4) PR (activity results, comments, etc.) You may also send CDs, photos, etc. by post.)
[Registration conditions]
Please accept the following conditions before applying.
1. It is not possible to pay “performance fees” or “transportation expenses” for performances.
・Sales of CDs and goods by artists performing are now possible on a trial basis. (Please consult with the secretariat in advance when selling.)
・Permission is required when using a car to carry in musical instruments such as keyboards. Please contact the secretariat in advance.
2. Hard rock and heavy metal performances that assume high volume are not allowed.
3. There are restrictions on what instruments can be used.
・Drums cannot be used. However, electronic drums can be used.
・You cannot bring in amplifiers for electronic instruments, but you can use amplifiers provided by the secretariat. (Amps with functions specified by the secretariat can be brought in, so please inquire in advance.)
・As a general rule, trumpets and saxophones cannot be used.
・Japanese drums cannot be used.
4. About concert appearances
・Once the concert schedule has been decided, we will let all the artists know.
・To apply for a performance, please apply directly to the organization that runs the concert at least 1 month before the concert date.
5. The scene where they performed at the waterside concert will be shown on Hiroshima City's website. Also, it may be published in various information magazines, etc. Please be aware.
6. In addition to the waterside concert, when an event is held to recruit performing artists, information will be provided to all artists who wish to perform.
・Please check the box 6 [Request other event information] on the Waterside Artist Registration Form.
・The secretariat will send an email to all the artists, so please reply if you wish to perform. Subsequent communication adjustments will be made by the event operator and the artist.
7. On the hydrophilic terrace on the opposite bank of the Atomic Bomb Dome, it is not possible to perform with a speaker pointing at the opposite bank (dome side). The direction of the stage is either upstream or downstream.
