Manto Mitama Festival [Hiroshima Gokoku Shrine]

Since ancient times, Japan has had the custom of lighting fires to comfort the souls of the dead.
At Hiroshima Gokoku Shrine, to honor the virtues of the enshrined deity, who is worshiped as the guardian deity of peace, and to express sincere gratitude, over 2,000 lanterns donated by many citizens of the prefecture are displayed within the shrine grounds in the "Manto Mitama Festival."
