Cherry blossom viewing at Senkoji Park

Senkoji Park stretches from the summit to the middle of Mount Senkoji, which is 144.2 meters above sea level. The park is decorated with approximately 1,500 cherry trees, which have been selected as one of the "Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots."
There are many viewing spots where you can enjoy the spectacular views of Onomichi and the cherry blossoms in the park, including the reopening of the Senkoji Temple Summit Observatory PEAK in 2022 and the opening of the MiTeMi viewpoint in Senkoji Park, which was built on the former site of Onomichi Castle.
At night, lanterns are lit and you can enjoy the cherry blossoms at night.

From the observation deck at the top of Senkoji Temple, you can see the cherry blossoms in the garden below.
In addition, Senkoji Temple Summit Observatory PEAK is directly connected to the Senkojiyama Ropeway Summit Station and is equipped with an elevator so that people with mobility issues can use it.

Approximately 15 minutes walk from JR Onomichi Station to Sanroku Station, take the Mt. Senkoji Ropeway and get off at the summit station. Approximately 16 minutes by car from Fukuyama Nishi IC, Senkoji Park Parking Lot (paid). *Traffic restrictions apply in the area, so using public transportation is recommended.
