“Exhibition of masterpieces of Japanese painting, from Taikan and Harukusa to Sugiyama Yasushi”

After the Meiji period, Japanese painting created new expressions while reviewing traditional paintings up until now, triggered by the influx of Western techniques.

This exhibition introduces trends in the early days of Japanese painting, focusing on works owned by CP Kasei Co., Ltd., which is headquartered in Ibara-shi, Okayama-ken, and unravels the tradition and innovation trajectory of the “Japanese painting” genre. Please enjoy the works of Japanese painting masters from the Meiji period to the early Showa period, such as Yokoyama Taikan, Hishida Shunso, and Sugiyama Yasushi.
