Historical museum related to the construction of wooden ships in Kurahashi

This facility opened in 1992 in a corner of Katsurahama Beach and was built as a symbol of the island's revitalization. It displays the history of Kurahashi Town and its relationship with ships using videos, panels, and models. The restored Tang Dynasty envoy ship, placed in the center of the U-shaped building, is 25 meters long, 7 meters wide, and has a mast 17 meters high. It is made mainly from cedar and cypress, and was built by 15 shipwrights from Kurahashi Town.
