In the main hall, the transom of three Karyobinga and male and female dragons carved using the thickness of a large zelkova tree.

Originally a Jodo Shinshu temple called "Tokoji" founded in 1735 (Kyōhō 20), the current main hall was built in 1856 (Ansei 3). It was later merged with the local "Ryūhō-ji" temple in 1942 (Showa 17) and renamed "Daitō-ji." Within the temple grounds stands a large 300-year-old camphor tree that is thought to date back to the temple's founding, and in the main hall there is a Karāvīngā and dragon latticework that was carved out of a single zelkova tree by a Kyoto sculptor.
