Tokiyu means a time far and far away
The museum exhibits artifacts excavated from the Taishaku Gorge Rock Shelter Site, as well as plants and animals unique to the limestone plateau and folk cultural properties of the Tojo region. There are many rare museum materials, such as 12,000-year-old plain pottery and the endemic land shell, the Taishakugisuru. In addition, a video recording of the Oyama Memorial Rice Planting and Hiba Kojin Kagura, both of which are nationally designated Important Intangible Folk Cultural Properties, is shown on a large 100-inch screen.
