■Edo Port Town Exhibition Hall During the Edo period, the port town of Mitarai flourished as ships waited for the tide or wind. The exhibition focuses on people's interactions and introduces Mitarai from three perspectives: trade, which flourished through shipping; friendship, which centered on entertainment culture; and exchanges with patriots and foreigners at the end of the Edo period. ■Virgo Theater In 1937, as Mitarai did not have a theater, plans were made to build Virgo Theater. The building stood out as a modern theater that brought together the best of architecture. After the war, it was used as a movie theater until the 1950s, after which it was converted into a fruit sorting facility, but was restored to its current form in March 2002.
