A place of relaxation surrounded by beech forest
Bordering the Shimane Prefecture border, the Prefectural Forest is part of the Hiba-Dogo-Taishaku Quasi-National Park and includes the Hiba Mountain Range itself, covering a total area of 1,164 hectares. It is a forest recreation base for those who are serious about nature, with hiking trails that wind through the primeval beech forests that are designated as national natural monuments, a ski resort that boasts some of the best snow quality in the Chugoku region, and a campsite where you can experience authentic camping. The European-style forest hotel, which has an authentic restaurant and event hall, also has rooms where you can stay with pets.
