An artificial lake located in the Taishaku Gorge where you can enjoy a walk in the valley
Located within the Taishaku Gorge Quasi-National Park, this artificial lake is 24 kilometers in circumference and 8 kilometers in length. You can enjoy strolling through the valley from a pleasure boat on the lake, admiring the fresh greenery of spring, the cool summer air, and the autumn leaves. It is also known as a fishing spot for smelt, and in winter it bustles with people casting their lines from the bridge or the lakeshore in hopes of catching a big haul. The promenade is home to the Shinryu Bridge and Sakura Bridge, both of which are registered as tangible cultural properties by the country, and photos of Sakura Bridge taken from the tunnel are often posted on Instagram.
