"Nozoki Karakuri", which is rare in Japan, is preserved.
Mihara City is located almost in the center of the Seto Inland Sea, blessed with beautiful nature, and home to historic sites and rich cultural assets nurtured by our ancestors. The Mihara City History and Folklore Museum was established with the desire to inherit and further develop the culture and traditions of Mihara. Exhibits include artifacts excavated from ruins in the city from the Pre-Pottery Period to the Kofun Period, ancient drawings and documents centered on Mihara Castle built by Kobayakawa Takakage, wisdom for daily life accumulated by our ancestors, and tools that reflect our culture. We hope that visitors will experience the flow of Mihara City's history through related materials and look at the present.
