Symbol of Kaita Town

Mt. Hiura is the symbol of Kaita Town. It is easily accessible from the city center and is loved by the townspeople as a familiar mountain. Over 1,000 plants, including zelkova, Japanese bayberry, Japanese maple, and Oshima cherry trees, are planted along the promenade. You can also see rare colonies of Genkai azalea and other beautiful plants throughout the seasons. From the summit, which is 345.4 meters above sea level, you can get a panoramic view of Kaita Town and the islands floating in Hiroshima Bay (on a clear day, you can even see as far as Miyajima!).
