You will be amazed at the superb view from Hattatamiiwa Rock at the summit and the Magaibutsu carved into the rock!
It is a 350m mountain in the Setonaikai National Park, and at its peak you will find Ryusenji Temple, which houses cultural assets from the Heian period, and Maro Cliff Buddha, carved into the eight-tatami rock formation. The view from the summit of Mt. Shirataki is magnificent, with Takayama Castle and Hiroshima International Airport within reach to the north, the Chugoku Mountains in the distance, and on a clear day, Mount Hoki Daisen. If you turn your eyes further south, you can get a panoramic view of the Shikoku Mountains, and the sight of the large and small islands below and the countless ships passing between them is truly like seeing a huge panorama.
