Valuable remains that trace the traces of a three-room layout that used to be an old farmhouse
It is a valuable cultural asset that allows us to learn about the history of mountain houses in the Chugoku region and the carpentry techniques dating back to the 17th century, and has been designated an Important Cultural Property by the national government. The living area consists of three rooms, "Katte," "Omote," and "Nando," and retains the old style known as the "hiroma-gata sanken-ori" (three-room layout). The thick pillars supporting the roof are skillfully made of curved chestnut wood, and still bear the marks of hand axes.
