If you climb the promenade for about 20 minutes, you will arrive at the observatory

The area around Mt. Kamamine (elevation 788m) is a national forest, and the giant tree county of Quercus variabilis that spreads along the mountain trail is said to be the best in western Japan. There is also a colony of mitsumata at the foot of the mountain, which is a perfect place to take a forest bath. Near the top of the mountain, there are castle ruins and an observatory, and the view from there is wonderful, and you can see the mountains of the Chugoku Mountains. It is a forest park that can be climbed from the parking lot through the promenade in about 30 minutes and is a good introduction to hiking and mountain climbing. Bubong Shrine (Tengu Shrine) was built on the cliff on the hillside and is worshiped as the god of Ikusa. There is also a cave (Iwao Cave), and it is said that Kanosuke Yamanaka, a military commander of the Sengoku daimyo Amago, also practiced. A huge tengu face is displayed on the mountain gate to welcome visitors.
