Hydrangea Temple in Sera, where more than 50 kinds of hydrangeas bloom in vivid colors
Within the temple grounds, along the walking paths that take in the hydrangea hills, cemetery, and ponds, more than 50 varieties of hydrangeas bloom in vibrant colors, including white, purple, blue, and pink, earning the temple the nickname "Sera's Hydrangea Temple." Next to the main hall is a garden built by Sesshu, who is said to have spent part of his training in Otasho. The best time to see the hydrangeas is from mid-June to mid-July.
