In front of the building, there is a reproduction of the postbox from that time, and even now collection and delivery are being carried out.

This building, which was the first post office in Takehara, was built in 1871 and began to be used as a post office in 1874. It was loved by the locals as the post office for 60 years until it was moved to the banks of the Honkawa River in 1934. The Yoshii family's residence is still standing in the same area.
