This temple was built in Tenbun 12 (1543). The large roof is topped with a ridgepole tile that is about the size of 16 tatami mats. The inscription on the water basin in front of the main hall was written by Rai Sanyo, and the stone statue of "Amanojaku" (a demon) holding up the basin shows the skill of the stonemasons at the time.
