This shrine is home to the stone steps where Kazuo and Kazumi tumble down in Obayashi's "Transfer Student," a film known to all movie buffs. There are 54 steps made of a single 5m-long stone, and the remaining step was deliberately joined by the mason, making for a truly magnificent set of stone steps unlike any other. As you reach the top of the steps, you will find Tenjin's messenger cow enshrined on your right, and across the pond to the left of the worship hall, a large stone brush stands. The one-mon coin monument next to it on the right was erected by a young man suspected of theft, who prayed to Tenjin and was cleared of his name, in thanks for the favor.
