A historic shrine said to have been founded in 708

It is said to have been founded in 708 (the first year of the Wadō era), and is a historic shrine whose name appears in the Engishiki Shinmei-chō (register of Shinto deities), a list of sacred places that were once sacred to the deities. It is located on the hillside of Mt. Mimuro, about 2km from JR Fuchu Station in the north of the city, and quietly stands surrounded by beautiful nature in every season: cherry blossoms and azaleas in the spring, deep greenery in the summer, and autumn leaves in the fall.
