The radium spring discovered in the Kamakura period is also effective for drinking.
This hot spring was discovered by the monk Toyonari, who traveled around the country during the Kennin era of the Kamakura period, about 800 years ago, and was designated as a national hot spring resort in 1972. It is known as one of the few hot springs in Hiroshima Prefecture. The radioactive radium spring water is colorless, transparent, tasteless and odorless, and is effective for rheumatism, neuralgia, chronic dermatitis, anemia and gastrointestinal catarrh, so it is good to bathe in or drink it. There are currently no hot spring facilities in Fuchu City, but you can take a bath with water from Yano Onsen when staying at Shizen no Mori MG Youth Hostel.
