The Shaka-do hall, where you can see the Chinese style technique of the Kamakura period, is a national important cultural property along with the Amida Sanzon statue and the seated statue of Hoto Kokushi.

Tan'unzan Ankokuji Temple, a Rinzai sect temple, was founded as Konpo-ji Temple during the Bun'ei era (1270s) in the Kamakura period, and was renamed Ankoku-ji Temple by Ashikaga Takauji during the Nanboku-cho period. The existing Shakado Hall shows typical Kamakura-period Tang-style techniques, and is designated as a national important cultural property along with the wooden Amida Triad and wooden seated statue of Hotto Kokushi inside the hall. The dry landscape stonework and giant cycad trees remain within the temple grounds, evocative of the time when the temple was inhabited.
