A rare mountain with untreeed meadows
The mountain has an elevation of 911.2m. Unusually for the Chugoku Mountains, this mountain has a treeless grassland at its base. It is a great place to pick wild vegetables, go hiking, and enjoy the spectacular view of the mountain covered in silver grass in autumn. The summit offers a 360-degree view, with views of Mt. Daisen and the Sea of Japan in the distance. In addition, on the eastern slope of the summit, there are three or four remains of horizontal ditches from an iron hole drainage site. Local volunteers burn the mountain every spring in an effort to maintain the landscape.
