Large cypress of Hachiei Shrine

There are two cypress trees, one large and one small, on the approach to Yasaka Shrine in Oasa Iwato, Kitahiroshima Town. The larger cypress has a circumference of about 6m at chest height and a height of about 25m, while the smaller cypress has a circumference of about 4m at chest height and a height of about 29m, making both trees some of the largest in Hiroshima Prefecture. Both cypress trees have remarkably developed roots and show powerful undulations.
