A water source that has one of the largest biotopes in Japan and where people and rare animals and plants coexist

It is a source of water where humans and nature coexist, where rare animals and plants live. The Haizuka Dam is a dam that can coexist with people and nature. Of particular note is Japan's largest biotope, "Chiwa Wetland," which was completed in April 2007. Around the dam, there are cherry blossoms in spring, colored leaves in autumn, and habitats and transplantation sites for erythronium and eranthis pinnatifida. "Chiwa Wetland" became a hot topic when storks, a national special natural monument, came flying.
