Ruins of Tosaki Castle

This is the remains of the castle of the Hiraga clan, a warlord from the Sengoku period. In 1523, when the Amago clan captured Kagamiyama Castle, the Hiraga clan switched sides to the Amago clan and built a castle on Atamazakiyama. Hiraga Okisada entered the castle at Atamazaki, and later came into conflict with his father Hiroyasu, who had sided with the Ouchi clan, and endured a fierce battle over seven days against the large army of Ouchi Yoshitaka, who was seeking to recover lost territory. Later, the Mori clan attacked Takayasu, the adopted son of Ouchi Yoshitaka, who had been forced upon them by the Mori clan. It has been designated a prefectural historic site.
