The current main hall was built in 1938 by Nishitani Shoichi, a temple carpenter from Yoshida-cho, Akitakata City. Nishitani is known as a master craftsman of the modern era, and in 1932 he was also involved in the construction of the Kannon Hall of Miyajima Daisho-in Temple. The Myogenji Temple main hall has been recognized for its excellent detailed design in various places, and was registered as a National Registered Tangible Cultural Property in December 2007. The carvings on the transoms were created by Omi carver Mori Kengo.
