The folk museum, which uses the government building from the Meiji period, displays materials from the Bingo Kokufu that existed from the Asuka to the Heian periods.

The History and Folklore Museum building was completed in 1903 and is the former Ashina County Office building, designated as an Important Cultural Property by Fuchu City. The first floor has a permanent exhibition of many materials related to the Bingo Kokufu ruins, which are the roots of Fuchu, and restored costumes from the time of the Kokufu (Asuka to Heian periods) add color to the exhibits. The second floor is a special exhibition room that can also be rented out as a place for citizens to present their work. At the museum, you can try on Kokufu costumes at any time, and in May and October, the museum holds a "Museum Festa" event centered on ancient experiences.
