The birthplace of Michiyo Okada, who became the heroine model of the novel "Futon" by Katai Tayama, a literary master of the Meiji era.

The building that houses the Joge History and Culture Museum is the renovated birthplace of Okada Michiyo, a writer from Joge. Traces of the past remain on the eaves and other areas. Exhibits include the history of Joge on the west side of the first floor, an introduction to Okada Michiyo on the second floor, and a folktale corner on the east side of the first floor. Special exhibitions are held at least four times a year in the hall on the first floor, and the first floor entrance is a place for citizens to exhibit their work. It is a tourist hub for the white-walled streets of Joge and the area, promoting the charms of Joge.
