The remains of a mansion related to Sanjo Sanetomi

It is the site of the Takeharaya residence, who served as a village headman during the late Edo period, and is historically known as the place where anti-shogunate court noble Sanjo Sanetomi and others stopped by. In addition, during the late Edo period, when political affairs were in turmoil, seven pro-imperial, anti-foreign court nobles were ousted in the Bunkyu 3 coup and exiled from the capital, fleeing to the Choshu domain in an incident known as the "Seven Nobles' Exodus."
