There are two types of Fugen Enmei statues, a two-armed one and a twenty-armed one, but this painting is a twenty-armed one, riding on four white elephants with one of the Four Heavenly Kings on each elephant's head. The face is expressed in an ancient style, and an inscription written in ink reading "Enmei Buddha, memorial service held on April 21, 1153 (Nihei 3)" was discovered during repairs in 1967.
