A rare building with an attic connected across alleys
It was the entrance to the Asahiza theater, which was popular in the early Showa period, and is affectionately known as the "Kugurimon" (passing gate). On the west side is the "Saijo Sakagura-dori Tourist Information Center," which houses a rest area, toilets, and a multi-purpose space, and on the east side is the "Kugurimon Coffee Shop."
