A tourist information center you'll want to visit at the start of your sake brewery tour.
This building is symbolic of Saijo Sake Brewery Street, where buildings with lattice windows, white walls, and brown tiled roofs line the street in a continuous row. It was used as an entrance to the Asahi-za theater, which was popular in the early Showa period, and is therefore affectionately known as "Kuguri-mon" (the gate you pass through). Currently, the western side is open to the public as the "Saijo Sake Brewery Street Tourist Information Center," a stopover point equipped with a rest area, restrooms, and a multipurpose space. It provides useful information for strolling around, such as tourist maps, information on when the sake breweries are open, tasting information, and event information. You can use it as a base for sightseeing in Saijo Sake Brewery Street while consulting with the staff who are always on hand.
