A base for familiarizing yourself with the revived Mihara Daruma
The Mihara Daruma Workshop was opened as a base for promoting Mihara's traditional craft, Mihara Daruma. It is currently operated and managed by the Mihara Tourism Association. Mihara Daruma ceased production after the war due to a lack of successors, but in 1989, a resident of the city, Hitoshi Kubo, began reviving it. In March 2019, the Mihara Daruma Workshop moved to the Ukishiro Lobby Tourist Information Center (Mihara Tourism Association) inside Mihara Station. There is a workshop space where you can experience making a daruma, and Mihara Daruma are on display.
