Located at the tip of the southern hill opposite the hill on which Kojoji Temple stands, it was once a cape jutting out into the sea, and the current Setoda townscape is a tidal inlet, thought to be the boat dock of the Ikuchi ships and Ikuchi Navy that were active in the Middle Ages. The castle is centered on a hill over 40m high, with one tier of enclosures to the north, three tiers of enclosures to the east, and a belt enclosure to the south.
