The castle ruins are located on a former small island in the northwest of Mukojima, where the Onomichi Strait narrows, and there are several levels of fortifications around the highest point, 26.4m above sea level. The Innoshima Murakami clan, who obtained Mukojima overlooking Onomichi, a key port for Setouchi transportation, built it along with Yosaki Castle as an opportunity to expand their commercial capitalist character, and Murakami Shokichi and Yoshimitsu, father and son, lived there. *It is not open to the public, so please view it from a distance.
