The museum opened in 1993 to preserve and exhibit the works of Katsuzo Entsuba, a master of Japanese sculpture, to forever commemorate his achievements, and to serve as a source of cultural dissemination from this area to the world. The museum displays works and collections that Entsuba donated to the city, including works from his early days as a sculptor, through to his later years.
