The birthplace of Chiyo Uno, a female writer from Iwakuni

This is the birthplace of Uno Chiyo, a female writer from Iwakuni City who wrote works such as "Ohan" and "Ikiteyuku Watashi." Behind the building is a large garden, filled with many maple trees that Uno Chiyo loved. The garden is a Japanese garden decorated with plum, cherry, maple leaves, and moss, and includes a cherry tree derived from an old tree (1,400 years old) in Neo Village, Gifu Prefecture, which was the model for the work "Usuzumi no Sakura." The fresh greenery and autumn leaves are very beautiful, and you can enjoy the scenery in every season. You can enjoy the autumn leaves in "Autumn of Reading" while also coming into contact with literature, and the garden is crowded with many people every year.
