Masterpiece of castle construction master Takatora Todo, a famous castle that is regarded as a model for later castle building

Surrounded by triple moats and equipped with a strong boat entrance (harbor), it was also Japan's largest sea castle. Even today, the moat and stone walls in the center of the castle remain almost completely intact, and the restored castle tower, turrets, and castle gates show off their beautiful appearance. The interior of the building is a museum, and the observation deck on the top floor of the castle tower offers a spectacular view of the Seto Inland Sea. Another highlight is the huge moat, where seawater flows in and out and fish migrate.
