A shop where you can meet the warm hospitality of the people living in Kawane
Ecomuseum Kawane, a lodging and training facility, was built through the efforts of the entire community in Kawane, a village of clear streams, using local natural ingredients as its ingredients. Its charms lie in its medicinal cuisine, which makes use of seasonal local ingredients such as river catch and wild vegetables, and the warm smiles of the 20 local mothers who work there. In June, when sweetfish dance and fireflies swarm, the Firefly Festival, which is based here and has the theme of "Environment and Culture," features natural ecology education and environmental-related exhibits, and many visitors enjoy the glow of the fireflies. As a souvenir, we recommend the "Yuzu Water Cake," which is made with locally harvested yuzu!
