Shinchi cherry blossoms

Stretching along the Shijihara River in Kitahiroshima Town, this "Sakura Namiki" (Cherry Blossom Avenue) has long been beloved by locals. Approximately 30 years have passed since the trees were planted, and now 100 Somei-Yoshino cherry trees create a magnificent avenue stretching approximately 500 meters. The charm of this avenue is the close proximity to the cherry blossoms. Compared to typical cherry blossom avenues, the branches are lower, allowing you to see the delicate petals right in front of your eyes as you walk. Admiring the cherry blossoms from such close range that you could almost reach out and touch them is a luxurious experience you can only get here. During the Shinchi Sakura Festa, held during the cherry blossom season, the entire town is bustling with food stalls and stage events. For about a week when the trees are in full bloom, the area is lit up at night, and the white blossoms shining against the darkness are truly a spectacular sight. A stark contrast to the refreshing daytime atmosphere, you're enveloped in a magical world of cherry blossoms at night.
