Japan's smallest and largest museum in Japan

The Geology Branch of the Shobara City Hiwacho Natural History Museum is now open! Learn about the nature of your hometown! Whale watching in the Chugoku Mountains. Although it is the smallest museum in Japan, it has a collection of over 100,000 animal, insect and plant specimens, and serves as a source of information on the natural history of the Chugoku Mountains and a place for lifelong learning. It also has one of the largest collections of moles in Japan, and is known as the Mole Museum.
