One of the best night view spots in the prefecture. In spring, the mountain trail is covered in cherry blossoms.
Mount Kogane is also known as "Golden Fuji" because of its resemblance to Mount Fuji. It is also known as the site of Niho Castle, and was once the stage of history. There are about 480 cherry trees planted along the mountain path leading to the summit, and in spring when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, the mountain path is completely covered in cherry blossoms, making it a famous cherry blossom spot. Mount Kogane is 221.7 meters above sea level, making it the perfect height for mountain climbing. In addition, from the summit you can see the whole of Hiroshima city, and it is also a famous night view spot in the city. Night view of Mount KoganeMount Kogane is one of the best night view spots in the prefecture, so much so that "Mount Kogane" is known as the best night view spot in Hiroshima. It is also easily accessible, about 10 minutes by car from National Route 2, and many couples visit it as a date spot on weekends. In particular, the beauty of the Hiroshima Ohashi Bridge and Kaita Ohashi Bridge lit up in orange, which can be seen from the observation deck on the left side of the parking lot, is so beautiful that it makes everyone stop and be captivated. From the observation deck on the opposite right side, the colorful neon lights of the city spread out below you. Of course the view is great at midnight, but we also recommend the view about 30 minutes after sunset, when the crimson sky gradually darkens and the city lights start to come on. Please note that there are vehicle restrictions between 11:00 PM and 5:00 AM, so please be careful when going to see the night view. (The North Observation Zone has been completed. It will be open to the public from 10:00 AM on Friday, March 20, 2020 (National Holiday). Enjoy the 360-degree view of Hiroshima.)
