A mountain of faith, also known locally as Kannon-san, where you can enjoy the seasonal colors and the scenery of Kaita Bay
Elevation: 192m In documents from the Edo period, it is referred to as "Iwatakeyama," but it is said that this name was corrupted to "Iwatakiyama" because the strangely shaped rocks and stones look like a waterfall when viewed from the foot of the mountain. Locals also call it "Kannon-san" after the Kannon Zen temple that once stood at the summit, and it is also a mountain of faith, with Iwataki Shrine and Toyonenji Okunoin temple located on the mountainside. The entire area has been designated a park, and there are circular paths and Jizo-meguri paths between the rocks, where you can enjoy the colors of the four seasons and the view of Kaita Bay below.
