A historic sake brewery loved by masters of Japanese painting
Zuishin was founded in 1860. It has been known as a sake brewing area since the Manyo period, and was introduced as a "famous sake" in the haiku etiquette book "Kefukisou" (by Matsue Shigeyori) published in 1645. Zuishin's sweet and delicious flavor was once praised by the master of Japanese painting, Yokoyama Taikan, who said, "Zuishin's sake is a work of art." The traditional Hiroshima sake, which has won numerous awards since the Meiji period and is "dry yet sweet," thanks to its "ultra-soft water brewing" method that focuses on water and rice, continues to attract many fans to this day. In Mihara, there are not only shops that serve Zuishin itself, but also an increasing number of shops that serve Zuishin in a way that is unique to Mihara, such as cocktails and sweets made with Zuishin.
