One of the few kilns on Yuge Island where you can experience it
A potter who trained in Bizen returned to his hometown of Yuge Island to open a Bizen ware kiln. He is experimenting with "Yuge ware" by mixing the soil from the fields of his hometown Yuge with the soil from Bizen ware. The climbing kiln, handmade from bricks and clay, is fired twice a year in May and November, and the flames are kept burning for three days without going out. You can also see the pottery being fired in the climbing kiln, which is now rare. Each carefully fired piece is unique to Yuge ware, and you can feel the warmth of the hands and the flames.
